The 2020 Election will be the most important for a generation

As I travel about the Shore I sense both pride and relief that the immediate health threat of COVID-19 has been addressed, but success has come at a terrible price for many.

Businesses that have managed to survive are often still on a knife edge, with failure and the redundancies that come with it a constant threat.

There are people without jobs (some for the first time in their lives) who can find no vacancies, and young adults who wonder what their education is going to be worth in a broken economy.

Even before the pandemic there were issues that had been ignored for too long: polluted beaches, gridlocked roads and a struggling health system.

The Shore has a list of things that need fixing, and I’ve put my seven areas of focus on the back of this card. They are there for everyone to see, because Election Day, 19thSeptember, is the day we all need to start making a difference.
